Enrollment and Attendance FAQs

Who can attend SCVCS?

The South Carolina Virtual Charter School serves students in grades K-12 who reside within the state of South Carolina. Students must be in good standing at their current school, currently enrolled, and have completed the most recent session of school (semester or year). Please do not withdraw your student from their current school until the enrollment application has been approved by SCVCS or your student may not be eligible to attend.

How many of my children can I enroll in the South Carolina Virtual Charter School?

Because South Carolina Virtual Charter School provides all the lesson plans and materials needed for kindergarten through grade 12, many parents find it easy to enroll multiple children in the program. We currently have families with as many as five children in the program being guided by one learning coach or mentor in conjunction with the support of SCVCS teachers.

What does it cost to attend the South Carolina Virtual Charter School?

Since SCVCS is a public charter school, there is no tuition. However, students and families will be responsible for providing some consumable materials (such as printer ink and paper).

A computer and high-speed internet are required to attend SCVCS. Students eligible for free lunch may qualify for a “loaner” computer with a $25 deposit per computer due before computer is shipped.
